« Le Petit chaperon rouge », un outil de propagande ?

Résumé

Dans le cadre d’une campagne de propagande pro-arme de la NRA (National Riffle Association), la blogueuse américaine Amelia Hamilton, s’approprie le conte « Le Petit chaperon rouge » (la version des Grimm), et produit une nouvelle narration intitulée « Le Petit chaperon rouge (a un fusil) » qu’elle accompagne de deux illustrations numériques. Cet article analyse la portée manipulatoire de ce conte détourné afin de révéler divers mécanismes propagandistes. Il montre comme le conte de fées devient un conte de propagande.

Abstract

As the NRA (National Riffle Organisation) organizes a promotional campaign to promote firearms, the blogger Amelia Hamilton appropriates Grimm’s version of “The Little Red Riding Hood” and produces a new narrative untitled “The Little Red Riding Hood (has a gun). Two digital illustrations go with it. This article analyzes to what extent this distorted tale manipulates to expose the ways through which this phenomenon occurs. It demonstrates how a fairytale can become a propaganda tale.
