Quand la peluche s’en mêle – après la guerre, une nouvelle vie

Résumé

Cette réflexion sur la littérature de jeunesse porte sur différents thèmes qui ne peuvent que toucher le jeune lecteur. L’article analyse deux récits qui décrivent la vie des enfants pendant la guerre. L’histoire d’une peluche Otto (1999) de Tomi Ungerer, destinée aux tout jeunes lecteurs, raconte la vie d’enfants juifs et allemands. Le récit Somwhere There Is Still a Sun : A Memoir of the Holocaust (2017) de Todd Hasak-Lowy, auteur de littérature de jeunesse, et de Michael Gruenbaum, s’adresse à un public adolescent et relate la véritable histoire d’un garçon juif tchèque. Ce dernier a survécu à son séjour dans un camp de concentration grâce aux peluches fabriquées par sa mère. Deux livres qui se chargent de faire comprendre au jeune public les atrocités de la guerre et ses conséquences sur la vie des gens.

Abstract : Enter the teddy bear – after war comes new life

This reflection on children's literature focuses on different themes that can only touch the young reader. The article analyzes two accounts that describe the lives of children during the war. The Story of an Otto Soft Toy (1999) by Tomi Ungerer, intended for very young readers, tells the story of Jewish and German children. Somwhere There Is Still a Sun: A Memoir of the Holocaust (2017) by children's literature author Todd Hasak-Lowy and Michael Gruenbaum is aimed at a teenage audience and tells the true story of a boy Czech Jew. The latter survived his stay in a concentration camp thanks to the stuffed animals made by his mother. Two books which are responsible for making young audiences understand the atrocities of war and its consequences on people's lives.
