Le nouveau-né substitué : le changelin entre féeries, mythe et roman pour la jeunesse

Résumé

Le changelin est l’enfant des fées, laid et mal portant, qu’elles substituent au nouveau-né humain en bonne santé afin de régénérer leur espèce. La croyance au changelin fait partie de ces peurs primitives de l’enlèvement, du remplacement du bébé à la naissance. Elle se transmet et se trouve en quelque sorte exorcisée par nombre d’ethno-textes, récits oraux, légendes et contes qui constituent un mythe. La littérature de jeunesse contemporaine n’est pas en reste et la fantasy intègre facilement les changelins. Nous nous attarderons et étudierons plus spécialement le roman pour enfants Le changelin de Marie-Aude Murail. Il s’agira d’en déterminer tout le riche réseau intertextuel

Abstract : he substituted newborn: the changeling between traditions, fairies and myth

The changeling is the ugly and sickly child of the fairies, whom they substitute for the healthy human newborn in order to regenerate their species. Belief in the changeling is one of those early fears of kidnapping, of replacing the baby at birth. It is transmitted and is in a way exorcised by a number of ethno-texts, oral accounts, legends and tales which constitute a myth. Contemporary children's literature is not to be outdone, and fantasy easily incorporates changelings. We will linger and study more specifically the children's novel Le changelin by Marie-Aude Murail. It will be a question of determining its entire rich intertextual network.
